Originally from Madagascar, born and raised in the southeastern region, Mashmanjaka has been imbued since his childhood with the traditional songs and music typical of this locality. In 1997, he founded the group Lonaky Ambanitana; with friends in order to immerse himself in this universe that attracted him so much from a very young age. Arriving in Antananarivo in 1999 for his studies, he met the MAKOA Group, a reference in hip-hop throughout the big island at that time. This collaboration with major figures such as Shao Boana, Maboto Tilahy, Kani Barbo, Rootikal and Selecta Momoman allows him to participate in major events in the history of hip-hop in Madagascar, opening for artists such as Sean Paul, Diam, Cut Killer, Busta Flex, Didier Awadi, Sniper, Sayan Supa Crew, Lord Kossity, Admiral T and many others.
At the same time, Mashmanjaka toured the Alliances françaises in Madagascar and participated in two festivals on Reunion Island with the group Shao Boana and the MAKOA Group in 2004 and 2005.
During this period, he also released the compilation One lova in 2003 and the mixtape FENOFANAHY in 2006 with Maboto Tilahy.

From 2010, Mashmanjaka embarked on a solo career to bring more personal identity to his projects and performances. In preparation for his first album, he continues to conquer the hearts of the Malagasy public thanks to his style, his flow and especially his committed lyrics. Explosive, witty and raw in his way of expressing himself, Mashmanjaka set up a musical movement that aims to unify all generations without being limited to types and genres. Since 2015,

Mashmanjaka has accumulated hundreds of dates and continues to make a name for himself and a place for himself among the most respectable of Malagasy music. Currently, the concept "Mashmanjaka Hazavagna" – Saint Sovereign of Light, tries to convey a much more assertive representation in his artistic approach, combining newroots reggae and Malagasy music, which remains the basis of his sources of inspiration, through his collaborations with urban music musicians. Reggae/Ragga Dance Hall in sound but Malagasy in music and soul. Since 2018, Mashmanjaka has quietly continued, from festival to festival, its way everywhere in the Big Island and even beyond. With at least, 7 participations in the Fianar Reggae Festival, 8 times in the Unity Concert and International Reggae Day. Last year’s MAKUA Festival. This year the band will perform on the stage of the Fianar Reggae Festival for the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the festival. Then they will represent La Grande ÃŽle at the Tsika Jiaby Festival, in France to finish the tour at the SUNSKA Festival 28th edition which will take place on August 1, 2 and 3, 2025.
The band continues to make people talk about them and further expands collaborations to make their work more accessible.
For Mashmanjaka, music is universal, Malagasy culture is very rich, barriers are no longer necessary.
