Influenced by Menwar’s Sagaï and the musical heritage of our ancestors, Emlyn, after a journey rich in collaborations and diverse artistic projects, is finally realising her dream: founding her own band, VannSiwa. This group, originating from Mauritius, represents the culmination of her personal musical journey, an adventure she now shares with her musicians: Didier Baniaux, Kurwin Castel, Khughen Cunden, and Patrick Desvaux.
Emlyn has always drawn inspiration from natural elements and the musical traditions of the Indian Ocean to shape her artistic identity. Carried by the strength of the “powerful southwest wind” evoked by VannSiwa, she now combines artistic direction and composition, orchestrating Indo-Oceanic sounds that touch the soul of those who let themselves be carried by the spirit of the group. Her leadership embodies this quest for balance between tradition and modernity, offering music that is soft, bold, and deeply authentic.
